Meet Dr. Chong

Dr. Daniel Chong has passion for the best quality of oral care and creating optimal aesthetics. His vision is to offer excellent dental care using latest advancements in dentistry while ensuring that patients are comfortable and relaxed during their visits. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Chong offers comprehensive dental services including cosmetic, implant and restorative procedures, general and preventive dentistry and specializes in dental reconstruction and the replacement of missing teeth to his patients.

Dr. Chong is one of 20 board-certified prosthodontists in Washington. In order to achieve this, one has to successfully complete rigorous and extensive examinations by the American Board of Prosthodontics. The mission of the American Board of Prosthodontics is to certify individuals who have demonstrated special knowledge and skills in prosthodontics. The board also seeks to certify those who are committed to life-long learning and a lifetime of ethical practices, who value the doctor/ patient relationship, who respect those with philosophical, cultural or physical differences and who are committed to the advancement of prosthodontics.

Dr. Chong believes that every patient has unique dental needs and expectations. He will ensure to consider all the aspects of requirements in developing individualized treatment plan to meet patient’s needs and expectations.

EDUCATION

Dr. Chong earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He was also a distinguished military graduate from the Reserve Officers’ Training Corp (ROTC) program. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry.  Following graduation, he began his service as a general dentist in the United States Army in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Following general dentistry he began a three-year Prosthodontic residency program at the Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Graduate programs in prosthodontics include classroom lectures and seminars, laboratory and clinical training in aesthetics/cosmetics, crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, complete and removable partial dentures, dental implants, TMD-jaw joint problems, traumatic injuries to the mouth’s structures, congenital or birth anomalies to teeth, snoring, and sleep disorders.

After his graduation from residency, he spent three years stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington as a Prosthodontic instructor and a mentor in a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program and as a consultant in Prosthodontics to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the Madigan Army Medical Center. There he provided advanced training and skills to general dentists as well as maintaining a busy prosthodontic practice of his own providing dental care for the vast number of soldiers stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. He also served as a Chief of Prosthodontics providing implants and complicated treatments to patients. He completed his active military service after seven years, having obtained the rank of Major and decided to remain and serve in the Army National Guard.

Dr. Chong is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontistics,  a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, and a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Washington State Dental Association.

Dr. Chong lives in NE Tacoma with his beautiful wife and two sons. In his leisure time, he enjoys working out in the gym and playing golf.
